Concert for a Cause 9 The Final Show w/ Farmer's Daughter

The Woodlands, Hwy 315, Wilkes-Barre, PA

"Concert For A Cause 9” is set for April 27 at The Woodlands. And after 13 years and more than $191,000 raised for various local charities, it will serve as the final “Concert For A Cause” event.

We also hope it will be the best.

Once again, more than 35 acts will perform on four stages. And this year’s beneficiary is the Big Brothers Big Sisters Anti-Bullying Program. Those of us involved in presenting CFC have seen the same headlines that you have seen over the past year. We’ve heard the stories of people — and almost always of young people — that have become so distraught over the cruelty of others that they’ve taken their own lives. And we’ve decided that, as our very last effort with “Concert For A Cause,” we’d like to try and help stop such nonsense.

This year’s show will feature modern rock, classic rock, indie rock, country, metal, reggae, Top 40 and ’80s retro. Performing will be 36 acts: The Badlees, 40-Lb. Head, k8, Bad Hair Day, The Five Percent, Flaxy Morgan, Panacea, M80, Lessen One, Tribes, Go-Go Gadjet, Nowhere Slow, OurAfter, Nicole Carey, Iron Cowboy, Farmer’s Daughter, Destination West, Ashfall, George Wesley, The SilenTreatment, The NonRefundables, Lemongelli, Underground Saints, Ed Randazzo, Days Before Tomorrow, Graces Downfall, Plus 3, Miz, Mr. Echo, Absolution, Eddie Appnel, Charles Havira, The Pennalites, Shawn Z., Jeanne Zano and Cabinet.

“Concert For a Cause 9: The Album” will be released on Feb. 8. The special double-CD set will feature 30 songs from artists that will be performing at the show. All proceeds from the CD will also aid the Big Brothers Big Sisters Anti-Bullying Program. It will sell for only $5 and will be available at all Gallery of Sound stores. A CD-release party will also be held at The Woodlands on Feb. 10. Only 1,000 copies will be pressed.

“Concert For A Cause 9” will offer continuous music from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Admission to the over-21 event is $7.
